Dear Read,

In your official letter of the 28th June (30074/22) you asked us to let you see any statement that might be prepared in the Home Office concerning opium traffic in the Colonies. We have now, in accordance with the Foreign Office sugestion, prepared the enclosed statement of the action taken by the British Goverment in commeation with the drug traffic since the International Opium Convention,

particularly 1912, Part VI of which sciakudis concern the Colonial

office. Please let me know whether it meets your views,

or whether you have any additions or corrections to

propose. I have also noted a few queries in the margin. Perhaps you would be good enough to let me have the

answers.
